THOMAS G. LESTER FAMILY COAT OF ARMS


Foundational Scripture Verses represented on crest:

The Crown of Thorns, Helmet of Salvation, and Palm Branches

Crown of Thorns: John 19:5 ; Yashua therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe

Helmet of Salvation: Isaiah 59:17 ; And He put on righteousness like a breastplate, And a helmet of Salvation on His head

Palm Branches: Revelation 7:9 ; After these things I looked and behold, a great multitude, which no one could count standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes,  and palm branches were in their hands

The Symbols shown on the Shield of Salvation:

Within the Shield of Salvation are the symbols of Gods Word; shown as a dagger, & the Holy Spirit; shown as a Dove.

Shield of Salvation: Thou hast also given me the shield of Thy salvation Psalm 18:35

Gods Word: is the sword (the original Greek word described a Roman dagger) of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) which;

Is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

All men are like grass and all their glory is like the flowers of the field The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.(Isaiah 40:6, 7)

The Holy Spirit: Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. (Zechariah 4:1) God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24) He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth (John 14:16,17)

Lion of the tribe of Judah with scepter:

Revelation 5:5 ; Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David

Genesis 49:9,10 ; and as a lion, who dares rouse him up? The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor the rulers staff from between his feet

Psalm 45:6 ; Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Thy kingdom

The Lamb of God and standard with cross:

Revelation 5:6 ; And I saw between the throne and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain

Isaiah 53:12 ; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sins of many, And interceded for the transgressors.

Revelation 7:17 ; for the Lamb in the center of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall guide them to springs of the water of life; and God shall wipe every tear from their eyes

The banner text is from Proverbs 30:5.

The Lord is my Banner wrote Moses in Exodus 17:15, and Isaiah (11:10) states that; In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples: the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious.

The Greek letters Alpha: first & Omega: last are from Revelation 1:8 ; I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.
